Artist Statement
As an artist, I try to capture a range of styles in my work. I experiment and try new things, and want to someday make art that can make future generations as excited about animation as I am. With many of my pieces I go for a very cartoony and exaggerated style, because I aim to make art that is cute, chaotic, and, above all else, memorable.
I started drawing from a very young age and was largely self-taught. I didn't take any professional art courses until my last two years of high school, and mostly relied on experimentation. I believe this approach has been somewhat of a blessing in disguise. I'm happy with how expressive and different a lot of my work is while still being distinctly me.
I have experience and regularly work with a variety of mediums and software. I'm Adobe certified, and mainly use procreate for digital art. I sketch traditionally practically every day, and have made lots of pieces using markers, ink, acrylic paint, clay, and charcoal. I'm always willing to try new things and follow prompts while adding my own dose of creativity.
I'm also willing to try again, and persevere even when it's a lot of work. There's a lot of sketches I started out unhappy with, but went back and changed them until they became some of my best work.
My specialty is making everything look distinct and expressive. Though I draw dogs a lot, no two look the same. I love to add my own twist to things and make every drawing unique.
Overall, I like to be flexible with my work, because why not try everything?
